Calculated under item 8 of the Tariff: BGN 30 up to BGN 100 of material interest, then 1.5% up to BGN 1,000, 1.3% up to BGN 10,000, 0.8% up to BGN 50,000, 0.5% up to BGN 100,000, 0.2% up to BGN 500,000 and 0.1% above that, but no more than BGN 6,000. What is the notary fee for a property worth €100,000?
Under the Tariff of notary fees, €471.24 without VAT, €565.49 with 20% VAT. On top of this come the registration fee of €100 and a local tax that depends on the municipality.
What amount is the fee calculated on?
On the material interest. In a property transaction this is usually the higher of the agreed price and the tax valuation.
Is there a maximum notary fee?
Yes. The fee under item 8 of the Tariff can't exceed BGN 6,000 (€3,067.75) without VAT.
Is VAT included?
No. The Tariff gives the fee without VAT. Notaries registered for VAT (under the ЗДДС, the VAT Act) add 20% on top.
